The Final Frontier
Apr. 28th, 2011 01:29 pmWell, although class is over- CORE 112 certainly isn't done with: there's still that seminar paper floating around in the memory of my laptop. Nonetheless, I thought it appropriate to talk about the end of class and those wonderful A4 presentations one last time before the end of the semester.
First off, holy canoli: people were awesome. That's not patronizing or being sarcastic, people's A4 presentations were straight up amazing.
Honestly, I thought Devon and Jessica's A4 presentations were fantastic. Devon's short story, eerily reminiscent of Orwell's 1984 (with a reproductive twist of course), was an exceptionally well written piece (personally I thought the style added to the bleakness and the depressing nature of the work), as well as one that really left an emotional impact after the fact. Jessica's rage comic series too was wonderful, and perhaps some of the most fun I think any of us had in the class, laughing at our experience (and reminiscing on it) after the fact. As well, I thought it was genius, having seen many of the memes that she included in her comic all over the internet beforehand. Of course, everyone's presentations were quite good; it's just that those two in particular stood out!
All in all, I think I've had a pretty good time in that conference room (and that one time in Taper). Thanks Alexis!
